I liked the writing and language of this book. However, my complaint, as with the middle books of any series, is that it just feels like a set-up/stepping stone for the rest of the series. I also wish that we'd gotten more closure in at least one quest Liir had (trying to avoid spoilers). I will be curious to see if/how Liir's relationships play out, and with whom, in the upcoming books.
We now have a new future though and another green-skinned girl. I can't wait to read more. In fact, while buying Out of Oz recently, the bookstore guy told me that A Lion Among Men was his favourite of the series, so I am looking forward to diving in to that one next.
