I loved this book and I'd love to meet this family. Crazy as loons but they love each other rather intensely!! Even with all their foibles.

I recently read Freedom by Jonathan Franzen and found the writing style of the two authors to be quite similar in their ability to weave a tale with great imagery. I really want to go and see the turtles nesting and the babies making their way to the sea. I would also love to visit Jack in Italy and have him cook for me!!

Great read, a bit wandering at times maybe, but it kept me glued and eager to get back to it. Work really interferes with a good book!!!
