Another great Jennifer Weiner book! This one is set in Los Angeles and revolves around Ruth's(the protagonist) attempts to get her newly picked up TV show made in the manner that aligns with her vision for the show. The show parallels Ruth's life with her grandmother, who's been her guardian since Ruth's parents were killed in the car accident that left Ruth with serious facial scars after flying through the windshield in her car seat.
For anyone who has ever felt serious isolation growing up and dreamed big, a life in Hollywood perhaps, this book hits the mark. It's also an interesting, behind-the-scenes look at the production process of a TV show, which I enjoyed.
It's a quick summer read and a good piece of well-written fiction. Enjoy!
